Monarch Madness

We’ve driven by the Panhandle Butterfly House in Navarre, FL many times and have always intended to go for a visit, but never had the chance as they are seasonal. We got the perfect opportunity in October when they hosted their annual Monarch Madness for all who wanted to attend! It was a fun and educational day! We learned a lot about butterflies and about the Panhandle Butterfly House and its volunteers! We hope you enjoy this video and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for other great videos!

Welcome Week 8!

Okay, before I begin this post, I have a confession. I write my blog posts in a journal when it’s nice and quiet in my house, then transfer them online. I wrote this blog post when we were beginning week 6 of homeschooling and apparently almost two weeks has gone past, so I’m editing the title a bit!

A Day in the ATL

I’m not sure if people still call it “the ATL” anymore or if that’s a thing of the past. Growing up there, we always giggled at that reference as we just called it “Atlanta”…easy enough right? We were going to be in Georgia on a trip and decided to head into Atlanta for a quick day trip. We had only been to Fernbank once for a school dance, and knowing we have a dinosaur-loving little boy, we figured no trip was complete without a visit to Fernbank Museum of Natural History! So we hit the road and headed over! If you’ve never been to Fernbank or are just traveling through with some time to kill, I HIGHLY recommend this Museum for young and old alike!

Touch-A-Truck/Kite Festival

I love these little weekend exhibits! We hit up Touch-A-Truck and the Kite Festival back to back, all while having a blast with some friends! The kiddos always LOVE looking at and climbing in all the big trucks. If your area has some of these events planned, I highly recommend them! They’re free, you walk around and get some exercise, make crafts from Home Depot, there are freebies to take home with you (which most people love, minus those fellow RVers!), and you get to learn all about these awesome trucks! They had dump trucks, police cars, helicopters, and much more!

Have you ever been to a Touch-A-Truck? If so, where was yours and do you recommend it?

Pensacola Day Trip

Here’s another throwback blog post for you! Don’t worry, I’m almost caught up! We had a scheduled homeschool field trip to the Pensacola State College Planetarium, so we decided to make a day of it to explore. We’ve been planning on seeing a bunch of sights over there and still have more plans to see what we missed on this trip. A day just isn’t enough to take in all the sights Pensacola has to offer! The Planetarium was a neat experience, although possibly dated and not for those easily prone to motion sickness. We had a wonderful time learning about all the planets, gas giants, stars, and constellations! Daddy even got to join us for this field trip!

A Day in Panama City Beach

We had previously stayed at Live Oak Landing RV Resort and really enjoyed it! So when we won 2 free nights as part of a video contest, we broke our unspoken RV’ing campground rule of “1 stay and done”. We are all about seeing, visiting, and touring new places, after all, that is why we bought an RV in the first place. So we decided as weekenders, that we would probably stick to one visit per campground/RV resort/State Park, etc. However, a free trip is definitely grounds to break a rule, am I right?

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park

This one is a throwback, because life just got too crazy preparing for fulltime RV life, that I just ran out of time to publish some blog posts that I wanted to share with you all. We joined some friends at the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park for a birthday celebration one Saturday. We were so excited to share this experience with some wonderful people!

A Zoo of a Field Trip!

We had such a wonderful (and frigid) field trip to the zoo for their homeschool day! My favorite was the adorable otters and little man was a fan of the fact that the goats were behind a fence, lol. Loose ones tend to enjoy knocking him over. But really, his favorite was the little monkeys, he would’ve stayed there forever if it weren’t for the playful fight that ensued over at the tiger cage! We learned so much and were able to pet some unusual animals, such as the armadillo! Here’s some pictures I took prior to freezing over completely! 😉
