New Orleans – Pontchartrain Landing  (May 2015):

Check-In: This process was so great! There was  plenty of signage to tell us where to go. The entrance and RV spots were nice and open. As soon as I checked in, we had to gentlemen show us to our spot and help us back in. This was HUGE because this was our first time driving and backing in our trailer.

RV Spots: They had nice large spots with a picnic table. There wasn’t a ton of shade, but we had a view of the water which was nice! All 120 sites are full 50 amp service with 6 price ranges. This isn’t a nature-type campground, so if you’re looking for a sate park type feel, keep looking.

WiFi: They offer free WiFi. We were almost as close as you could get to the main building, but our internet was so weak it didn’t work. Very limited WiFi access.

Amenities: They have a convenience store, marina, restaurant and bar, gorgeous pool right off the water with hot tub, playground, and daily shuttle into NOLA. They also have showers, a dump station, propane, laundry. They have gorgeous little villas for people traveling without RVs or families trying to meet up for a vacation.

Kids/Pets: This is very family friendly! We didn’t have time for the pool or playground, but both were nice!

Staff: It was difficult initially getting someone on the phone to make the reservation. I called a few times and finally got to talk with someone to make our reservation. The staff was so friendly and accommodating once we arrived and on the phone making the reservation. They were so helpful providing us with information we didn’t even know we would need!

Local Area: It’s about a 15 minute drive into NOLA which speaks for itself.

Reason and Rating: Somewhere to park  6.5/10
