As I sit here rereading my daily notecards, I’m being reminded of what life was like two years ago. The fears, concerns, and worry I was experiencing. Not knowing just how this journey was going to affect me. Would I survive the surgery? Probably, even though that is always a fear going into any major surgery. Would it be cancer? What kind of battle lay ahead if it was? Was I strong enough to fight it? Would I survive it? Those were all unknowns. Unknowns I had to sit with for many months. If it wasn’t cancer, how would I heal? How would life change afterwards? Even though this was the best scenario, there were still so many unknowns. I was petrified. I was scared to my very core.

Children and Their Joy for Life
Sitting here in an all too familiar place watching my little 6 year old in his “big boy” gymnastics class has me contemplating life. By now you’re wondering what kind of gymnastics class this is to offer such insight, right?? I promise the class isn’t as intense as it sounds and neither is the gym. But back to why I started writing to begin with. Have you sat back and really observed a child? Really watched their behavior, their excitement, their joy for…well… everything? If not, I highly recommend unplugging completely for a bit and truly taking it in.
Blue Angels Air Show, Pensacola Lighthouse, n’ Freedom
There’s no better way to celebrate Veteran’s Day than watching the Blue Angels Air Show, touring the Pensacola lighthouse, and celebrating America’s freedom!! We’ve been to Pensacola several times, but have never seen the Blue Angels fly or toured the lighthouse on base, so we figured this would be the perfect opportunity! Thank you to all those who have served, fought for, and protected our freedom! We hope you enjoy this video, and don’t forget to comment and like!
Have you seen the Blue Angels fly? If so, where? What is your favorite part about an air show?
Chattahoochee Nature Center
On our Georgia trip, we made sure to head over to the Chattahoochee Nature Centernter in Roswell, GA. I had been when I was younger, but didn’t know much about it recently. Boy did it change! I was super impressed with everything they had to offer and we weren’t even able to go on a themed day. They have themed days relating back to the time of year or addressing specific topics, which is great for those looking for some bonus add-ons to your curriculum! I highly recommend stopping by if you’re local or in the area traveling! We really enjoyed this as a field trip because it pairs nature with education, which I love!
Autrey Mill Nature Preserve
It’s been a VERY long time since I have been to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve in Georgia, which is exactly why I decided to make the trip over there. Between hiking, exploring the historic village buildings, checking out the old mill and mine locations, and learning about the animal exhibits, one could definitely spend a great afternoon or entire day here! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, and the camps they offer seem really interesting! If you’re in Georgia, this would be a great day trip! RV Life & Our Family and Friends
Man oh man, where do I begin! This was such an awesome experience! My son had been requesting his cousins for his birthday and being a traveling family, we just couldn’t come through for him. But little did he know, plans were in store for them all to be together shortly after! Continue reading
Fall Farm Festivals
Fall is such a wonderful time of year, isn’t it? Here in Florida you can now walk around mid-day without breaking into a sweat! It’s glorious really! As I write down my list of the numerous farms I want to visit this fall, my mom asks if I think we’ll get bored of the same old thing. Continue reading
Sawnee Mountain Hike
While on our Georgia trip, we headed over to Sawnee a few times to meet up with my mom for a mid-day hike. Being in Florida, we rarely see mountains, so we loved hiking this one while we were in town! We really enjoyed exploring the mountain and seeing most of North Georgia from the Indian Seats. We never had time to park across the street in the new parking lot, but that trail is supposedly even longer. That would be a great option for those looking for a longer distance. I also want to mention that there’s a small playground near the parking lot, which is a nice bonus for those with kids! Here’s a video from our time at Sawnee! We hope you enjoy!
