Hernando Beach is located in Florida, about 35 miles north of Tampa. This quaint town has uncrowded beaches, wildlife parks, and so much more! On our way down to south Florida, we were able to yard camp with family in Hernando Beach. We really enjoyed our time with family, not to mention the view and location was pretty amazing!

Van Purchase & Initial Shakedown
Here’s our video from the day Alan went to purchase and pick up our new-to-us van! We were so very excited to see it for the first time! We were very lucky in finding a unicorn of a Promaster all the way in Connecticut. This was a rare find because it is an empty cargo van (with 2k miles and hardly used). Most cargo vans have high mileage and have been put through the ringer. It’s also rare, because most cargo vans do not have windows because they’re used for deliveries. This one has windows, much like passenger vans. We jumped at this purchase when we saw it and are happy we did!
Transit vs Promaster
Here are our top 2 picks! We’re planning to buy one of these used and convert it into the campervan/Class B we need it to be! Now we need to decide which we prefer so we can begin our hunt for the perfect van!
We’re Building!
Okay, we were trying to decide between a class B, Class B +, or a Campervan! We’ve came to a decision! Watch the video and let us know what you think or if we’re crazy! š We cannot wait to take you along on this journey with us!
Do you have any great van conversion sites we should check out? Are you excited to follow us on this van conversion journey?
“Buy Used” They Said…
One of the first suggestions you’ll see when beginning your RV search is recommendations to buy used and never buy new! We heard these recommendations too and took them to heart. “All the kinks will be worked out if you buy used” they say. For our RV search, we never really looked for new versus used, we just searched our floorplan and the closest one (still 3 hrs away) happened to be new. The next closest (18 hrs away) was also new. So, as you see, we didn’t have many options with this particular floorplan. So…we bought new.
Best RV for Europe?
We have narrowed down our options for our move to Europe!! We started with six: Class A, Class B, Class B+, Campervan, Truck Camper, and Trailers. We are now down to 3! What would you choose for your European travels and why?
Reflecting Back on Our Purchase
When we first purchased our travel trailer, we did so under the assumption that we would be doing weekend or week long trips whenever we could, with the possibility of living in it fulltime for six months or so, many years down the road. My husband wanted a toy hauler and I wanted a “homey” feel. Together, we both wanted to be able to watch movies, entertain, or do dishes after the kiddo went to bed. Our child isn’t one who will sleep with tons of noise, so we knew the extra bedroom was a must. Once we knew what we wanted, we began the online search. Between floor plans, weight allowances, and price, we narrowed down the search fairly easily.
RV in Europe?
If you haven’t seen ourĀ big announcement, you may be able to guess by now, but make sure you check out our vlog so you know all the details. Watch as we debate the best way (for us) to travel around Europe! Stay tuned as we narrow our search.
Got Sway?
For all those travel trailer owners out there, this one is for you! Here’s our vlogs about our sway issues. It was a long process to figure out what the problem was. We wanted to post our vlogs in hopes that it can help others solve their sway problems.
