Tires for the Duramax Suburban

Well…After our flat tire, we called the online tire distributor that was used by the previous owner to outfit the suburban with tires. Long-story-short they were unable help. So in this video I give you the rundown of how we got our Duramax Suburban some new shoes, and what were the shortcomings of the online store vs the brick and mortar store we choose.

Smooth Moving

People have asked us how difficult it is to pick up and go while fulltiming. “Fulltimers tend to have so much stuff setup outside” is a comment we frequently hear. A few days ago, we completed our first “move” while fulltiming. We figured we’d videotape the outside tear down to give you an idea of just what is involved in “moving” our RV. We didn’t have time to get an inside video, so we’ll make sure to tape that in a few weeks when it’s time to pack up again, but I’m happy (and shocked) to say that we didn’t have any mishaps inside during the move. Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions or comments! Don’t forget to give us a “thumbs up” if you liked our video, and as always, SUBSCRIBE! 🙂

Asheville Adventure

Once we wrapped up our Tennessee fall trip, we hit the road and headed straight for Asheville. We have a weak spot for the gorgeous Biltmore Estate and couldn’t wait to show our son all around! They absolutely need to have a campground on the Estate, I would love to stay on the property in the RV! We toured the Estate, walked the gardens, and even fit in the wine tasting I had previously missed out on in Gatlinburg! {Winning!} It was an awesome day and we definitely could’ve used another day there! On a side note: I highly recommend hitting up the Candlelit Tour during the Christmas holiday, it’s amazing!

For this trip we stayed at Taps RV Park about 15 minutes from the Biltmore. Here’s the campground review for that park.

Tennessee Trip

It’s been a while since we’ve seen fall in the mountains…make that a long while. Our fall foliage trip this year consisted of a few nights in Pigeon Forge, followed by 2 nights in Asheville, NC. We stayed at Bear Cove Village, which is down the street from Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. You can check out our Bear Cove Village reviews if you’re interested in visiting this great campground! We thoroughly enjoyed driving around in the mountains and seeing all the beautiful colors!

Duraburb – November 2015

Build and Shakedown Review:

Duraburb sign

So here we sit roughly 45 days later with 3500 driving miles and 2000 towing miles (yeah we had some traveling plans) on our new Duramax powered Chevrolet Suburban. The one word that is continuously thrown around to describe this project as a whole, whether it is by friends, family, fellow travelers, or car enthusiasts is, and I quote…. “Unbelievable”.
